Our expertise in contemporary, vintage and estate jewelry as well as gemology have allowed us to acquire an exquisite collection of antique and estate jewelry pieces over our many years in business. Our close contact with both national and overseas wholesalers and jewelry designers, as well as our certifications as certified jewelry appraisers, allow us to best serve our clients when an insurance appraisal or for-sale-appraisal is requested.

Oscar Golbert

President

Oscar Golbert is the founder of 18 Karat Appraisers and a Graduate Gemologist, graduating from the Gemological Institute of America, (G.I.A.), in 1992 at the Santa Monica, CA location and is a member of the Gemological Institute of America Alumni Association (Diploma Member). Oscar Golbert is also an Accredited Member of the International Society of Appraisers (I.S.A.) since 1993. He was the former director of a well known, French retail jewelry store on Rodeo Drive for over 10 years which gives him unmatched knowledge of national and international jewelry markets. Oscar has studied the antique and estate jewelry market and watches extensively as well.

Hernan Golbert

Hernan Golbert is a Graduate Gemologist graduating from G.I.A. in 2005 at the Culver City, CA location. Hernan received his bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 2005 in Political Science and History and became a part of the company shortly thereafter to work with his father.  Hernan is a Certified Member of National Association of Jewelry Appraisers (NAJA), also a candidate member of American Society of Appraisers (ASA), and is the head certified jewelry appraiser at the company.
